Is Face Oil For you: Review on Whamisa Flowers Facial Oil

When it comes to face oils, many people think that it is a counterproductive measure to current skin condition.  And honestly, I was one of those pessimists in terms of oil application on the face! :) I never ever thought that a face oil like Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil would change my perception about face oils. It was a personal challenge to try this oil on my oily, clogged prone skin. I knew that many people loved this oil so much. But everyone is different. Will my skin survive the application? That was my biggest worry.

The first time I use this product was a bit a "disaster". I was concentrating more on the scent, sniffing the smell, while pouring some drops on my palm, until I ended up having more than half full of the dropper! Well at least with that amount, I was able to sniff it better. 😊 I am not fond of fragrances, because they make my stomach grumble, that was why I was very curious about the scent 😊

Anyway, it had a very faint flowery smell, very comfortable to my nose and most importantly it did not linger after application. Not wanting to waste a drop of the product, I applied the enormous dose of the oil sitting on my palm right to my face(note: always test in small amount and in small area of your face or body!! Do not follow this example).

It was not at all a surprise ending up shiny right after slathering up all the oil on my poor face! “Yeah, my fault!” I kept reminding myself while patting on the oil to my skin. Pat, pat, pat, almost slapping my face, without looking at the mirror and hopeless my skin will drink all those oils and worried as well, I might breakout being too crazy using too much product. Glancing at the mirror about a minute after… OMG!! I can’t believe it myself, the oil was almost gone! So delighted! I thought with that huge amount of oil, it would just sit there on the skin, but it was absorbed! And the glow! It was a non-oily glow. Do you know what I mean? It was not shiny but just glowing healthy!

Okay, that first-time use was an evening routine. Got hooked!

The Layering

That single use made me realize that the  Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil was light and absorbed very well, which made me decide to switch this to AM routine. I like using light skincare products in the morning, because I can layer as much as I want to my mature skin without ending up too oily. I layer this oil with other light toners like Son and Park Beauty Water and light essences like Skinfood Premium Lettuce & Cucumber Water Essence and sometimes with LJH Vita Propolis Ampoule depending on my skin mood.  And then topping it with either an emulsion like Missha Time Revolution Immortal Youth Moisturizer or with Dr G. Barrier Activator Cream or everything in small doses during those time of the month when the skin becomes really too dry and oily at the same time.

The Dosage

The beautiful bottle comes in 30ml which will take you forever to finish, because all you need is a maximum of 3 drops per use! Massage it lightly on the skin, then pat for better absorption. This oil also works like a booster to emulsions you apply after. It kindda pulls  the emulsion more into your skin which you’ll notice by the faster absorption.

The Ingredients

Containing 98% of organic ingredients, this facial oil is a true blend of numerous oils that target all skin types. Just look at the following oils present in the Whamisa Oil and what they can do to your skin! It just explains why oily skin like mine is liking it a lot and those with dry to acne prone skin also benefits because the oils are wisely blended to cater for all skin types. And with the mixture of different oils, your skin gets a lot more benefits compared to a single type of face oil in a bottle!

Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil: powerful antioxidant and a hydrating oil. It attracts and retains moisture into the skin and have potent anti-inflammatory properties

Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil: known to moisturize and hydrate the skin, also fights bacteria on the skin, and has anti-aging properties

Corylus Avellana (Hazel) Seed Oil: contains Vit E that helps in skin elasticity and prevents aging, increases skin hydration, has astringent properties which helps oily skin cleanse and shrink pores

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil: soothes skin irritations, sunburns and chapped skin, keeps skin moisturized but at the same time balances oil production, great for acne-prone to dry skin. It is also anti-aging

Daucus Carota Satica (Carrot) Seed Oil: it is antioxidant, has antiseptic and healing properties which helps cure infections on the skin

Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil: treats acne and other skin inflammations, also retains moisture in the skin

Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil: full of vitamins and anti-inflammatory properties, improve skin tone, heals skin irritation faster

The Result

Oils are considered emollient trapping moisture into the skin. By adding oil into your routine whether in the morning and or at night, your skincare routine becomes so much more versatile because you can layer as much light products as you want and seal them all with this oil, or be lazy and use only few layers of your skincare products and top it with the oil. Or mix a drop in your moisturizer for a speedy skincare routine.

Because of its consistency and texture, applying it to your skin always gives you that instant healthy glow and smooths the wrinkles right away. It is a great prep before makeup giving a perfect canvas specially if your skin is dry with patches that are just annoying. Get rid of those patches by massaging it with a drop of oil before proceeding with a makeup.

But aside from these, consistent use makes the skin super soft and supple and the skin is obviously more elastic.  I personally did not breakout from using it daily, which was a deciding factor to continue using it daily and to write this review to share you my Whamisa Oil experience.

Tips:

Oils are multipurpose. You can use them in many other ways aside from just applying it on your face.  Strengthen your nails by applying in on your cuticles daily. Damaged hair ends also benefits from the oil. Or mix it with a lotion or moisturizer to treat very dry areas of the body like elbows and knees. Some people even apply them on the lashes for faster growth.

Bottom Line

Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil had definitely changed my perception to face oils. The great mixture and formulation of this oil is to be grateful about. The combination of different oils in one bottle gives the skin a boost of nutrition that obviously creates a smooth, supple and elastic skin. And all you need is just 1-3 drops per use!
